WARDED TO SOCIETY GIRLS.For some reason beyond my comprehension, Charmaine has attempted to offer her charity to me in the form of teaching me charms and spells. I find this odd considering that mere days ago, I completely denounced her as a member of my family and any friend of mine. She proceeded to tell me that if I die while I am here, I will die believing a lie about her. It seems that she is denying that she and Tiberius are romantically attached after all. Regardless, I do not know what to believe.
But should I die, I would like it to be known that I do not want her in attendance at any services my family arranges. I do not want her to pretend as though she is distraught over it. I do not want her to set foot near my resting place. I would like the rest of you to ensure this. And should she die, I would like it if you would be kind enough to ensure that I am not tempted to be upset over it. She may have been kin for many years but I refuse to allow my character to become as flimsy as her own.
Seeing as my character is far sturdier than my former cousin's, I do not plan on dying. It is mainly the latter request over which I am concerned. I ask this because there are few left I trust. I know I cannot even trust some of you not to betray me but I have hope that there are a few among you who do care about my friendship enough to share your own.

WARDED TO CHARMAINE TRAVERS.Is it true, then? Has another good, decent, supposedly intelligent Pure-blood girl decided that she does not care about heritage or preservation of our families so much as she cares about her own selfishness? Just as bad as being involved with a Full-blood is the fact that none of this has been pursued through proper channels which exist for precisely this reason. We are British, need I remind you. We are meant to make sacrifices just as I will be willing to sacrifice your friendship should you decide you do not care about mine in order to remain true to the things I believe. I do not even know what most of the purists believe now and while I do suppose the war is more important, I believe it is just as important to remember why we are fighting. For what we are fighting. I am not doing it for Mudbloods or so those for whom I care can show me precisely how little regard they have for me.
If it is true, Charmaine, I promise I will never speak to you again.

I think it ought to be known by everyone in this camp that our Head Boy, the one we have all trusted and to whom we have looked up to this entire year, is nothing more than a scoundrel! In the midst of everything, when we have far more important things to think about, he has taken advantage of a young woman in mourning. In fact, I believe it is even possible that he has enchanted her.
Shame on you, Tiberius Ogden! If I could send you a Howler, I would and it would hurt your ears a great deal.

What, precisely, does it mean that the Germans are now using 'guerilla-like' tactics to invade France? Are they behaving as though they are apes of some sort? Because that does not seem particularly unusual to me. Nor does the fact that they have abandoned proper invasion tactics for something even more barbaric.

I am beginning to think I should not listen to the wireless any more. It seems the news just gets worse and worse. I cannot tell if I would rather be unaware of the danger or aware of it. Either way, there is little that we can do besides carry on and keep a close ear on the wireless for more information. If they think that they are going to hurt anyone in Kent, they are wrong. I am sure our soldiers and the Ministry would not allow such a thing to happen. They may as well take their ships and return home for all the good they will do.

WARDED PRIVATE.If we must leave on the ninth, that leaves only a short week or two to prepare myself after we bury daddy. I know I must be strong not only for my own sake but for his as well. I am sure he would not want to see me acting out of sorts on his or anyone's behalf. It has been a tiring year between the attacks at school, being interrogated, the wars and bombs and now all this. I wish that I had been able to see him before he died.
I hate the Muggles. If they did not exist, none of this would be happening. Grindelwald would pay our country no mind if they were simply not here. I wish they would all die if only to save us the trouble. Then we could be left alone.

Now that we are all home, hopefully we will be allowed some time of relative peace before we are called upon for war. While I am eager to do my part, after the events of the school year, I would not mind a bit of time with my family before I depart. For those of you who have families to enjoy while you are home, I hope that you are making the most of it. For those of you who do not, perhaps this will be good motivation in assuring that Grindelwald is defeated sooner rather than later. I would rather not have to miss school in the fall if it can be helped.

While I think being frightened by these incidents is entirely understandable and I, too, am frightened, I think some of us have forgotten entirely what it means to be British. We have seen our country torn apart by two different wars. If we all broke down in hysterics every time something dreadful happened, I doubt any of us would have made it this far. I am through feeling as though I am a victim of some sort of dreadful school conspiracy. I am English and I will not allow my fear to prevent me from acting as such, whether it be in regards to these attacks or the wars. Buck up, the lot of you.

WARDED TO EUPHEMIA PREWETT.Effie, I have a terrible problem and I do not know who wiser and more trustworthy to speak to than you about it. According to Augusta, Ernestine was inebriated at Miss Marchbanks' party, but she has told me that it was not true and that I should not believe anything Augusta says! Augusta has told me that Ernestine did not intentionally drink any alcohol, but she seemed to be intoxicated in front of everyone! She also said that Ernestine thinks that she came to the party with Edmund Corner! A Mudblood! In front of everyone!
I do not know what to believe or what to do.
